Sweet kids, sweet family.
I grew up in a family where money was very tight, before the days of credit cards. Getting something big for Christmas or a birthday was just amazing, because you knew how much scrimping it took for my parents to save it up. It was really cool for the kid to ask how they managed to afford it and be told “we saved.” That’s a great life lesson, vs. just charging and hoping…

I don’t know, I guess I remember what it was like to get a present that I wanted and get really excited. I’m a little sad that the kid’s life is completely changed because he got an X-box. That seems kind of, I don’t know, just sad I guess. A bike, a chemistry set, a puppy, an instrument, those are the kinds of things a kid should be so excited they cry about it.
