It’s a Trap!

This is the first truly creative TV ad I’ve seen in a long time:
(if you can’t see the video, click here)
Too bad they never showed this European commercial in the U.S., I think Americans would get a kick out of it.
Whenever I’ve seen someone in distress, I’ve always come to the “It’s a trap!” conclusion as well. I guess there’s good reason though - instead of some innocent young lady locked out of her car, I typically happen upon some fat sweaty guy in cutup jeans and a sleeveless t-shirt leaning against the side of his mid-eighties Chevy.

Anita– Is it the same fat sweaty guy every time? Sounds like the ghost of Dan “Hoss” Blocker is stalking you, but he was a good guy.
Hey! What about the fat sweaty young ladies!? Ha ha!
Why exactly did they play the James Bond theme song at the end?
shiver me timbers.
Awesome. But America doesn’t usually evoke Serial Killer when branding.
Serial killer with great legs!
Ayuda en carretera…
Pregunta de exámen de test de coneducir: vas en coche por una carretera secundaria, de repente ves un coche averiado y una chica impresionante intentando arreglarlo, ¿te paras a ayudarla o no?…

That’s good. I always think it’s a trap, too.
Geez, Hoss Cartwright was mentioned in this thread.
Wow!
I’m an American and I thought it was great. also being in the advertising biz I think it’s quite effective. It’s funny, I remember it, and I remember the brand. Kudos to Toyota, they make good cars.
I think the only reason it wouldn’t do well is the subtitles. Our big fat lazy asses don’t do no readin’.
True, the majority of us Americans are stupid.

Funny
I’m pretty sure this was made and aired in Puerto Rico. (I live here, and saw that quite a few times in the movie theater a few years ago.)
