In the 1950’s, Steve Allen did the same thing with rock-n-roll lyrics,and Stan Freberg was the predecessor to Wierd Al Yankovic. Sorry, I couldn’t find any decent youtube links.)

My friends and I ADORE Cute with Chris. At first it’s almost obnoxious, but then it latches onto your brain until it’s all you can think about. He plays around with the format, so it’s not the same type of show ALL the time… But his quoted lyrics are pretty hilarious.
