New Star Wars Episode

This is the Star Wars episode I’ve been waiting to see:

(if you can’t see the video, click here)

I promised myself I’d present something excellent today, and not just a video…but I think this video is totally worth it. Now that I think about it, Eminem’s songs do all seem to focus on the same themes over and over…

And, yes, it is stuck in my head, and yes, it probably will be forever.

Bizarre Coke Commercial

The Santo Buenos Aires ad agency produced this commercial for Coca Cola. Bizarre, but pretty inventive for a commercial.

As astounded and saddened as I was by the stuff on cats ordeal, I have an obsession with lolcat pictures, and my favorite running gag is “Invisible ____!” Invisibility rox!

A few of my favorites:

Or, the bikes:

Or, the instruments and tools…

Hahah…Oh man. I actually have a great big collection of these on my computer. I’d share them all, but I’m afraid you all would come to hate me. And I would deserve it. What are some of you guys’ favorite running lolgags? I know the “I has a bucket” one Ben posted a while ago has quite a series adding up. But I still love the invisible stuff best.

Shave -n- Specs

I’d say no to inventions nobody needs but watching their video and seeing all their desperate affords makes me kind of sad.

With the Shav-N-SpecsTM hi-impact resistant polycarbonate lens and the patented fog-free SidefocalTM design providing expanded view of your face, you will see what you have been missing with ordinary glasses and mirror.

No need to worry about missed spots, uneven shaving, or poor grooming. You will be able to see your entire face with Shav-N-SpecsTM and shave with confidence These glasses are for people who wear glasses to read (farsighted) and normally aging eyes. Hi, I’m the Dentist! I’m honored to be a new writer for Say No To Crack, and I may or may not practice dentistry. Nice to meet you!

I’d like to begin our love-hate relationship by showing you this music video by Mutemath. It’s definitely the coolest reverse-action video I’ve ever seen. Not only are these backwards antics impressive when you consider how tricky it is to pull off, it’s also just plain fun to watch.

Yes folks, they did all of it backwards. I think there was at least one cut in there, but give them a break, they are human (I think).

Now that you’ve seen that, here’s the video in reverse, done by a very clever person who realized, “hey, if I reverse this, then I can see what they did forwards.”

Fun stuff.

In appreciation for being called over 230 years old, Queen Elizabeth sent George W. Bush the following postcard:

Queen with monkey guard

In response, Bush has tasked the Defense Department with learning the secrets behind the the Brits’ Orangutan combat and guard training.

Thanks Jay!

If you’re a fan of beef jerky, but looking for something new, maybe it’s time to try some of these:

Squid Jerky

This squid jerky comes in a handy postcard so you can mail it home or to your friends. Next time you’re in Japan, express your heartfelt affection by sending your loved ones some dried vacuum-sealed marine life. Or just visit the company’s website to order your own.

Candy mountain!

Okay, I almost didn’t post this because it’s not very new, and I’m almost sure you’ve seen it. But then, you never really know who’s seen what, and I figure, if you have seen it, it’s worth a re-see. If you haven’t seen it, it’s just about time you have, and so here I’m presenting it to you:

MAN I love this video! It’s so easy to quote, and I just love it.

Also, I promise to start posting things that aren’t just videos. It’s finals week, and between taking tests, writing papers, packing, and losing the will to live, the internet, my sweet internet, has taken a little bit of a back seat. But I’ll return to you.

UPDATE: Thanks for all your caption submissions in our most recent contest:

Caption Contest

I think this was a tough one to caption (and to judge). You can see all submissions at the contest page, but here are my 7 favorites captions. Vote for yours at the bottom, or feel free to comment on one you liked better.

“Oh, Sir Ralph, doeth me the pleasure of mounting thy noble steed, Segway, and travel to yon pub of ill-repute and mounting my noble steed until knight comes.” – from Howard

Sadly, despite King Arthur’s tax incentives, the Segway did not catch on during the Dark Ages. Historians blame its demise on the difficulty of retrofitting castles with electric outlets. – from Diesel

“I say, this contraption is much kinder to the family jewels than a horse!” – from VelvetVerbosity

“Yes, Dear, I DO have to make that ‘clip-clop’ sound.” – from Bunk (#1)

“Look at all we can accomplish, now that we have tenure.” – from Bunk (#2)

“This guy is in charge of a nuclear reactor. Seriously” – from Belarius (he really was serious here, wow)

“A bit more pricey than coconuts, but well worth the cost.” – from Keith

Which did you like best?
