When I was young, our family would drive from Southern California to visit relatives in Northern California. The tedium of the long drive was alleviated by snacks of dried squid and cuttlefish. We could spend hours gnawing through the dried meat, which had the consistency of shoe leather (only saltier).

I particularly liked the tentacles, which had little hard rims on the suckers.

When we got to our cousins’ home, we had terrible squid-breath!

I bet you could mail one of those to the House of Representatives and shut down the government.
