I should probably be embarassed, but I love captioned pictures (apparently called image macros or lolpics) such as this:

I know, I know, these have been around FOREVER. You’ve probably seen them all in your e-mail, or overused in forums or on MySpace. But I can’t help it, I still love them. Here’s my favorite:

I even had that as my desktop background for a while. I’m a sucker for middle school humor I guess. If there was a central repository of these pictures, it would probably be half filled by cats:

I have been using lolcats as my email signature for a while now, I will send friends emails and many respond just to tell me how funny my sig was.
I have even seen one of my teachers print my signature so that he could show other teachers.
Maybe us Aussies are behind the times, because most people here are only just discovering the wonder of lolcats.

not pleased - actually, these were all from e-mails, primarily from 2 friends named Brian and Matt. If someone knows the original creator of any of these pictures, I’d be more than happy to credit them.

I had never seen 4chan before, but I just went there and most of those pictures are just reposts from around the web.

Oh the captioned cat photos. Makes me think of “Operation Kitten Calendar” which then causes me to sigh at how that is probably just how the kitten calendar industry is, and how there are too many people with too much time on their hands.

Not me though. I’m procrastinating, so I actually have no time to be making comments about silly internet cat photos.

Alright screw rules 1 and 2 all is already lost. 95-100% of these pictures came from 4chan. For all you people out there who believe they originated from lolcats or any of those crap hole, myspace level websites who claim to be the *originals*, these images were created by b tards who had nothing better to do. Theres no philosophy, or hidden meanings in these images. They’re just funny. Thats all. Nothing more. So stop over analyzing them. /b/ is a festering cesspool of internet scum and we just want caturday and our damn cats back. If you’re going to use them at least give credit where credit is due. All you have to say is, *hey I found this picture, some jackass on 4chan made it, I found it humorous.* End.

I, myself, find those pictures to be hilarious (my fav would be the bucket seal by far on those you posted).
I love 4chan, and also clever sites/forums OVERusing 4chan’s, like, say, YTMND.com, and BBV4L of twoplustwo.com to a lesser extent.
I was able to find some genuine GOLDEN gems of internet there.

Hello there,

I love lolpics as well, i have been working on an application which allows you to ANIMATE your lolpics as an animated gif!. So you create a bunch of them, then you click “Combine”, choose the frame speed, and your done!.
