Imagine walking into a friend’s dining room to find this four foot tall Gummi Bear chandelier hanging from the ceiling:

YaYa Chou, the artist who conceived the chandelier, has also created many other Gummi Bear sculptures, such as this Gummi Bear rug (which I recommend not using as a bath mat):

I thought this red Ram was the cutest though. Primarily because I’d love to give them out as Christmas and Birthday presents:

Who knew that Gummi Bears could be so versatile?

Now that’s entertainment! Bossy only has one question for the artiste. Is it pronounced Gummmmmy or Goooomey?

I just wanna squeeze it ))

Wow. Simply wow. I’m not going to lie, I would proudly hang the gummy chandelier in my house, then make fun of people elsewhere for having ‘lousy Tiffany crystal chandeliers’

Edible art, who’d have thunk it….I’m not sure it would last long in my house though as I love gummy bears and I’d hope they used some soluable whatever to keep them stuck together and some thin string or something.

That’s the coolest idea ever! Now I know what to use for decorations at my birthday party next weekend.

i want to eat them too!!!

  15. on 10 Mar 2007 at 8:37 pm yaya chou

no melting, folks! there are low-watt energy efficient bulbs in the chandelier (which you should consider using in your home to save elec. bills.) Plus, gummi bears melt at 200 degree… I know that, because I’ve melted some…

Oh my god this is amazing. I’m making a Gummi Bear sculpture for a friends birthday in a few weeks by melting down about 1/2 pound of her favourite flavour, but this is amazing..

I Think I might make her something similar to the Bear Rug out of the other flavours so I don’t waste them, or more importantly, so I don’t eat them all myself and have to walk sideways through doors.

This art is just beautiful. Were they glued using superglue or was it something edible? For the other flavours I was thinking of using a flour/water mix that has been sweetened with Equal (artifical sweetener), so hopefully it’ll hold.

So a little over a year ago I was in charge of an “art adventure” for my whole class at university. We made gummy bear sculptures. Mine’s nowhere as magnificent as the above, but I only had an hour… Here’s my gummy bear wind sock:
