Amazing slow motion video of golf ball explosions
December 10th, 2006 by ben
What happens when a golf ball is sent hurtling towards everyday objects at ridiculously high speeds? These incredible slow motion videos from Nike show the explosive results.
Mayonnaise:

My favorite - Jello mold:

For some reason I found most of these to be just as funny as they are interesting. What did you think?

Those are absolutely amazing! For a brief, albeit morbid, second I thought they were actually going to shoot a golfball at a real bunny…
I have to agree, the Jello was the best.
They were all very cool. The thumbs up at the end of each was very funny.
Very interesting, Anita.. Very good collection, ones I have never seen before.. Enjoy the rest of your day..
This is the best early Christmas present ever. Thanks, Anita.
simply awesome.
That was awesome!!!!!! The jello, yeah, that was poetic! I feel bad for whoever has to clean that stuff up.
The golf ball through jello was like the parting of the dead sea. You could track the ball by its plume. #i guess this is what a shotgun solid would do to you as well…
i love the sound on the bunny video–and i was pretty surprised it wasn’t a chocolate bunny
Toatally fake you losers. Golf balls dont exist!!! IDIOTS!! LOLOLOLOLOL ROFL.
This is just the viral-marketing-effect nike wants to achieve. Everyone is posting these vids on their bullogs. And you’re all helping. But at least it’s a win-win-situation, cuz we get to see some really cool footage.
good aiming.
Hahaha slow mo stuff is so cool, especially this!
But will those golf balls blend???
Nice Blog ¡¡¡
I’m right in saying that all the thumbs ups at the end where exactly the same footage right? That’s a really cool touch.
come on this was rubbish. It wasn’t funny due it to being a carefully contrived viral marketing campaign.
Very cool stuff, I like the mayo
It is nice to see how things appear when they slow down …. it is similar when we stop in our daily lives for a breather
…. great perspective Anita!
why is this labelled amazing?
Seems like a rip off of the keystone beer canon, or the blendtec “Will it blend?” viral marketing.
Vanillabean, Moses parted the Red Sea…. and Alec, I think the thumbs up footage at the endings were different, some varied in length, position, etc. Great marketing, similar to “will it blend”… Well done, Nike.
Good viral ads.
I was interested to see how much the mayo looked like like the distribution of dark matter in the local universe.
These are great Nike viral vids. They thank you for the ad space.
I think the funniest part were the nerds, in black and white no less, announcing the object about to be shot.
Is there a video of one of the nerds being shot with a golf ball? Now that would rule.
Well sure. That’s what happens when you hit wimpy stuff with hard stuff.
Where can I get a golfball cannon?
Lord. I thought it would be a real bunny too for a second.
Wait a minute… where’s the one with the human brain?
I want a golfball cannon to keep with me in my Element. I will produce videos for “that car in front of me” and “that car beside me” and a few for “those cars behind me”
Just another annoying marketing ploy. Feel used?
That is really cool
I like the mayonnaise one.
Does anyone have Christy Turnlington’s phone number?
ripoff of the milwaukee’s best light beer cannon
think of something new next time nike !

Thx for sharing that!
That’s the funniest thing ever! I saw the still of the bunny’s red ribbon being blown off and I thought it was blood… from a realy bunny. Morbid, no?
O.o ……
at least it wasn’t me
